Amazon Reseller Guide: Applying for Category Approval in Health & Personal Care on Amazon Seller Central

Editor's Note: This article is here to help you get through the steps in seller central of getting approved for the Health & Personal Care category. This is for items that have UPCs on them.

At times, we list items on our site, www.palletfly.com that are Category Restricted. Ensure that you are not restricted in those categories before considering the deal. At the moment, our site is offering FREE signup. This may change at any time.

Here is what you will see when starting up the process

Health & Personal Care

Amazon limits the addition of new sellers in certain categories to ensure that customers are able to buy with confidence from all sellers on Amazon. The requirements for selling in the Health & Personal Care category reflect customer concerns about product quality, product branding, and consumer safety.
Sellers must meet the requirements listed below in order to sell products in the Health & Personal Care category. Please take the time to read this list of requirements and consult our Help pages if you have questions about specific policies. Once you have reviewed the category requirements, you can apply for approval by clicking the Request approval button at the bottom of the page.

Seller requirements

  • You must be registered as a seller on the Professional Selling plan.
  • You must meet the following seller performance targets:
    • Order defect rate: < 1%
    • Pre-fulfillment cancel rate: < 2.5%
    • Late shipment rate: < 4%
  • You must provide us with acceptable documentation and other information we request about the products you intend to sell. After you request approval to sell in the Health & Personal Care category, we will contact you with additional information.
  • You are not required to have your own company website, but if you have one it will be helpful to us to review it during the application process.

Product requirements

  • All Health & Personal Care products must be listed using the manufacturer's UPC code. For more information on UPC requirements, see Product UPCs and GTINs. If you do not have UPCs, review Amazon Brand Registry for how to list products without UPCs.
  • All Health & Personal Care products must be sold in New condition. Used listings are not permitted. For more information, see Condition Guidelines.

On the next screen you will see the below questions. I’ve marked the correct answers with a dot.

Which of the following statements describes your responsibility when listing products on Amazon:
Once I'm approved to sell in a category, I can sell any product without needing to vet the product.
I don't need to review every product I sell on Amazon because I'm sure Amazon will just remove the product if it isn't allowed.
If another seller is already selling the product on Amazon, then I can assume it is allowed to be sold on Amazon.
  • I'm responsible for all products I sell on Amazon and for understanding whether they violate the law or are otherwise restricted from sale on Amazon.
Which of the following statements is true about the specific examples of restricted products that Amazon provides in its restricted products help pages:
They represent a complete list of all the products I cannot sell on the site – if it isn't listed, then it must be permitted.
  • While the list is intended to be a helpful reference, it does not represent a comprehensive list of every illegal product in the category, and it is the seller’s responsibility for ensuring that the products they sell comply with applicable law and Amazon policies.
If you list products for sale on Amazon that are illegal or otherwise in violation of Amazon policies, the following consequences could result (please select the best answer):
Your offer for the products in question may be removed.
Your eligibility to sell in a particular category may be removed.
Your entire seller account may be blocked (in the case of more severe offenses, such as selling an illegal supplement).
  • All of the above.

Which of the following represent a best practice when selling on Amazon to ensure compliance with our policies:
Assign one or more employees to be responsible for reviewing each product you plan to sell. This employee should have deep and up-to-date knowledge of the products as well as the industry, including laws applicable to those products.
Carefully review our Restricted Products policy, including the "Examples of Prohibited Listings", and your product catalog on a regular basis. This includes any products that are included in inventory feeds or uploaded using an automated system.
If buying inventory from a source other than the manufacturer, apply extra diligence to understand the provenance of the products and the legal framework in which they may be sold.
When in doubt about whether a product may be sold, do not list it.
If selling drugs or supplements, understand the ingredients in these products and research whether they are permitted.
  • All of the above.
